Preparation for the Healing Journey

July 28th, 2009

The Chafetz Chaim, a great Talmudic sage and one of the most prolific writers of the past century, wrote dozens of books geared to helping the Jewish people deal successfully with the spiritual issues of their troubled times. His books, written in a clear and interesting style, have been a source of inspiration to thousands of Jews the world over, and they remain so to this day.

Once a non-Jewish admirer of the Chafetz Chaim asked him, “Why don’t you use your tremendous talent to write novels? There’s no question that your works would be best-sellers, and you would make a fortune!”

In response, the Chafetz Chaim told him the following parable.

The Tools of Healing

July 27th, 2009

To experience a session in Healing Pathways – whether it is facilitated by a practitioner or whether an individual works with it himself – is to journey into one’s own inner world. It is a voyage to understand what we truly want and what goals will lead us toward fulfillment and personal satisfaction; it is a excursion from a land of blockages, in which we feel hampered and closed in, unable to actualize ourselves, to a land of freedom, in which we experiences positive self-direction and self-assurance. These positive traits allow us to move into a new reality, one that enables us to take full advantage of all our innate talents and abilities, while still maintaining an intimate awareness of our intrinsic essential self.

The Emotional Spectrum Matrix

July 26th, 2009

The emotional nature of a human being is extremely deep, often infinitely so. It is not uncommon for someone to become overwhelmed when he experiences the full range of his feelings that a negative situation or trauma elicits. This often happens when one is angry.

Imagine an empty glass on a table. Someone comes and fills the glass half-full with water. A little while later, someone else enters the room and fills the glass to the brim. If a third person comes along and adds more water, then the water will simply overflow, since there is no room left in the glass.

Take a look at a typical day for a man named George: He gets up in the morning bursting with vigor and full of happy expectations. When he enters the kitchen to eat breakfast, his wife is busy with the baby and forgets to say good morning. He feels slightly put out, but, “No big deal; that’s life,” he tells himself, and he puts it out of his mind. He may think he just forgot about it, but in reality, that subtle insult is stored in some inner niche, filling up his emotional “glass” to a certain degree.

The 72 Facets of Human Personality

July 1st, 2009

The second level of the Healing Pathways model is the human personality. The human personality is varied and richly complex; it includes 72 individual traits (see Kuntres Shivim Kochot Ha’Adam LehaGra, by Rav Yaakov Mordechai Greenwald). These 72 traits fall within ten energetic categories:

1. Potential

2. Elemental

3. Temperaments

4. Centering

5. Developmental

6. Sensory

7. Emotional

8. Integrative

9. Focusing

10. Intellectual

These traits represent the various abilities and talents God has given man as the means through which to connect with and actualize his potential. They allow him to process stimuli from the environment to strengthen and enhance his essential self, and they enable him to project his individual perceptions out to the world, allowing him to influence his environment in positive ways and to achieve his unique purpose in life.
