Connecting to Your Inner Rhythm

Filed under: Healing with Color — Tags: , , — David Seltzer @ 5:42 am

Everyone has his own unique energy, personality and outlook. Each of us has different talents. What might take one person an hour to do may take another person just ten minutes, and it may take someone else two hours. Each person has what could be termed his own personal processing cycle. It might irk someone that he must work harder to accomplish a particular goal than his friend has to work, but he might accomplish it in a different way that is ultimately more effective, or he may complete some other task faster and more easily than his friend would. He may have a deep understanding of people, while his friend is exceptionally talented with his hands. It is important to stay focused on the fact that we are not in competition with one another. Everyone has his unique mission in life, and his life and talents have been designed to help him achieve that mission to perfection. The color yellow is ideal for helping us connect to and appreciate our specific individual process. Yellow is friendly and cheerful. It is sunny and upbeat, the ideal color to help us stay focused on our special, unique talents and means of expression.

The following visualization is designed to help you connect to your own inner rhythm.

Yellow

Exercise I

Yellow is a color that builds a positive outlook toward ourselves and others. It is full of joy and brings a person to hope and self-awareness. It keeps a person alert and nurtering toward himself and others. For the next sixty seconds, please look with total focus at the yellow sky pictured here, holding one hand on your forehead and your second hand on the back of your head, opposite your eyes. As you look at the picture, breathe calmly and deeply.

 Yellow Sky

Relax your arms for half a minute.

Exercise II

Again, place your hands in position, and read aloud as you think about the following “statement of choice.” Where you are instucted to breathe, take a deep breath and take another look at the picture:

Yellow Sky

I choose to connect [breathe] to the healing power implanted by God in the color yellow [breathe] in order to release all self-punishing behaviors, [breathe] all self-destructive behaviors, [breathe] and all self-denigrating behaviors or perceptions [breathe] that block my ability to connect to my own inner rhythm [breathe].

And I choose instead [breathe] to use the healing energy that is present in the color yellow [breathe] to connect to my intrinsic, essential positive self, [breathe] and to create a positive outlook [breathe] in all areas of life, relationships, learning experiences and endeavor [breathe].

Relax your arms for half a minute.

Exercise III

Once more, place your hands in position. Read aloud as you think about the following “statement of choice.” At each pause to breathe, take a deep breath and take another look at the picture:

Yellow Sky

Any time in the future [breathe] when I chance to see the color yellow, [breathe] whether it be a reflection of the sun in the sky, [breathe] a yellow pencil, or a meadow filled with yellow wildflowers, [breathe] I choose to rearouse the powerful positive energy created by this visualization [breathe] to enhance my connection to my inner rhythm, [breathe] with hope and self-awareness, [breathe] with joy and self-nurtering, [breathe] in all areas of life, relationships, learning experiences and endeavor [breathe].

Relax your arms for half a minute.
